According to Remodeling Magazine's 2010-2011 Cost vs. Value Report, creating a memorable first impression really pays off - and doing so doesn't need to cost much!

According to Realtor Magazine, there are 5 projects that bring the greatest return, these include:

1. Replacing the Entry Door - Replace the current door with a nice strong 20 gauge unit with an attractive finish.

2. Replacing the Garage Door - It doesn't have to be expensive. A basic door with new tracks and the existing motor will often be sufficient.

3. Replacing Siding - Replace worn, old siding with fiber-cement siding that has been factory primed and painted (a good selling point!).

4. Remodeling the Kitchen - Keep the current cabinet boxes, but upgrade the faces. New Doors and hardware can make a big difference. Upgrade the appliances and laminate countertops, and install a mid-priced sink.

5. Installing a Deck - Adding on a deck can be a great way to boost the value of your home, but be careful to choose the right size. Going too small may not attract buyers and going too big can hurt your chances of recouping your investment.
