38 Days until the North Carolina Blueberry Festival!

The annual North Carolina Blueberry Festival has been held in Pender County, second in blueberry production in the state, since the 1930s. The festival celebrates the multi-faceted cultural significance of the crop and attracts around 30,000 people to Burgaw. Events includes concerts, art shows, recipe contests, 5k run, bike ride, antique sale, car show, and more!

I wanted to mention the Blueberry Festival a little early, because the deadline for the NC Blueberry Festival Association Essay Scholarship is fast approaching. All essays need to be submitted by May 20th. This is a great opportunity for local high school seniors to get some extra aid for college.
