Wilmington and Burgaw Area Real Estate News

Every town has a business, some have more than others, that seems to be rooted in the history of the area. Located between Wilmington and Burgaw is one of those places. Situated at the intersection of US-117 and NC-133 in Rocky Point is Paul's Place. Above the front door is a sign that reads, "Famous Hot Dogs" and not many (if any!) will deny that fact.

The popular restaurant is named after Mr. A.A. Paul. He was the original owner who opened Paul's Place in 1928. At that time, it was in a different location. After the original burned down in 1932, a new structure was put in it's place; however, in 1951 it moved to it's current location.

Paul's Place has had many forms: it was once a gas station, country store, restaurant, and popular night spot. Nowadays, it's a family restaurant and favorite destination for tourists and locals from Wilmington, Rocky Point, Burgaw, Castle Hayne, and many other surrounding areas. If you aren't a fan of hot dogs, they do have a full menu, though their regulars might be a little dissapointed you don't try their "Famous" staple.
