Wilmington and Burgaw Area Real Estate News

If you're thinking of buying a home, it's important to keep in mind pending construction projects that may have an effect on your home search. There are multiple road improvements projected for New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties. These roads may not exist now, but they may be in existence 4, 5, or 6 years down the road and could cut into or close to current properties. This may reduce views and lower property values.

One of these projected road projects is the US 17 Hampstead Bypass, which has been devised to alleviate traffic issues on US 17/Market Street. It currently has six projected alternative routes and will affect numerous properties in New Hanover and Pender Counties. To see a map of these routes and the proposed construction timeline, visit the US 17 Hampstead Bypass web site.
